20 April 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 20th April [1894]. Practised guitar. Blanche came in the morng to ask me to take the flowerstall at her sale on Friday & Saty next. I drove in afternoon with Augusta & took Mamma with us. Went to Onslow Gardens to see Connie who came home just as we were leaving cards. We took her with us in the carriage & left her at some committee meeting. She had just come back from the unveiling of Jenny Lind’s monument in Westr Abbey which she & Charlie Eliot have organized & got up. Ethel Cadogan & Nelly Alderson dined with Augusta & me– Henry was up in my bedroom & sat in the armchair with his feet up but alarmed me by having a good deal of pain. Ethel sat with him after dinner. Augusta went to a play at the Albert Hall written by her friend M. Raffallovich. I sent Nelly & Ethel home in our carriage when I sent the carriage to fetch home Augusta. She was not home late & I went & sat with her a little while to tell her of my anxiety about Henry.
