27 April 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 27th [April 1894]. I woke with a terrible nervous headache & was very ill all day. Nurse Watson kindly looked after me. I had to give up all thought of going to the Sale & Auga Gregory kindly took my place & arranged the stall & got the birds to sell & the puppy to be raffled for. I lay in the dark. Nela came to stay with us. The Ponsonby party came in to lunch & Miss Hogarth came after a long engagement. I saw her later after she had been to the Sale. I saw also Sophy Palmer & Nety Montagu who came to see Henry. He had also Sir Fred Burton & Mr Rassam to see him & had to remain in his own room. Towards eveng I got better & sat in the chair while Henry dined lying on the sofa. Edward, Blanche & Mama dined here & Edward came up & sat with us after their dinner. They were in great spirits over the result of the sale having taken about £300.
