7 May 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Monday. 7th May [1894]. Up at 7.30 & went in to Henry. He had had a fair night. At 8 I went in to Kate & talked with her till I dressed for Breakfast at 9. Wrote letters for Henry. Practised guitar & Mrs Kay called at 11.30 & sat with Henry. Mrs Poynter came to lunch & saw Henry. Lady Sophia came at 2.20 & sat with him. Maria came in & I took her out driving also Kate & Nela. We went to Kensington shopping & left some cards & returned home to tea. Mr Cartwright came to see Henry. Mr Herbert Thompson dined with us at 7.15 & took Kate, Nela & me to the Lyric Theatre to see “Little Christopher Columbus” a burlesque—with “shirt dancing” & singing in wh Yohé acted—a pretty woman with a contralto voice. Nela went afterwards to a ball with Blanche Ponsonby. | |
