18 May 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Friday. 18th May [1894]. Breakfasted at 9. Wrote letters. Practised guitar. Went to 40 Devonshire St to enquire after Mrs Dyer who was ill yesterday. Found she was better & up. Annie Murray came to luncheon. Went out driving with Nela. First to Park Crescent. Met Alice Murray & Ola coming here & took them in the carriage & brought them here. At the door found Mr Palgrave who came to see Henry & also Mr Hamilton Aidé but he said he could not see them. He was much better & got up at 11 & at 3 oclock got off the sofa & sat in the chair by the window for 1½ hour. Hatzfeldt came to see him & Stella Dyer. We picked up Julia Du Cane & took her driving with us. Went to try & find Mrs Arthur Hanson who is just come from Consple ill. She was out. Mr Herring came at 6.30 & was much pleased with the improvement in Henry & talks of bringing him downstairs on Monday & now thinks he will get very much better with time & rest. At 7.15 I went for a little walk up to 25 Park Crescent. Met Richard as I came back & he walked down Portland Place with me. Mama & Miss Sharpe dined with me & Nela & Mama sat some time with Henry in the evening.
