26 May 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Saturday. 26th May [1894]. I was very tired & remained in bed till abt 12. Mr Herring came to see Henry & then came to my room before I got up to say all was going on well. Roberts also was reported to be better & to have had a quiet night sleeping 3 hours. Nurse Watson went off to see her sister abt 12 she still lingers on. Henry was down abt 11 in the drawing room & sat up in the chair a little while. Mr Sheppard came to see me in morng also our late housemaid Mary Udell. In the afternoon Mr George Clark came to see Henry—also Miss Duff Gordon– I had visits from Eliza Holmes White & Capt. & Mrs Thurlow– I lent our carriage to Mrs Arthur Hanson of Consple to drive in. Nela went to the Exhibition of pictures at the Grafton Galleries, but returned to tea. Abt 6 nurse Watson came back & then I went out for a walk with Nela into Regents Park. I went to see Blanche & she begged me to go & dine with her & Mama & I did so returning home at 9. Mr Herring came at 9.30 to see Henry. Roberts not quite so well this evening. Today we had cold winds & is very trying.
