Sir Henry Thompson came to see him yesterday just as he was in the hall going out driving & Henry asked him if he might walk upstairs. Sir H. said he might try. So yesterday he walked up one flight of stairs. Today he walked down from his room to the drawingroom & was carried up. Nela & I went for a drive; left cards on Mrs Ball. Went to Humphrey’s Hall to the Baby’s Exhn & also to Burlington Club to see the Exhn of pictures of the Ferrarese schools. Several of Ivor’s pictures are exhibited there. On our return to tea at 5 I found my Uncle & Aunt Ld & Lady Lindsey sitting with Henry. Gave them tea. Mr Pinkerton also called. Afterwards Felicia played the piano to Henry & also Issie Du Cane. Henry was tired towards eveng & complained of his chest & his temperature was up tonight 101.2. I played patience after dinner & he looked on till ¼ to 10 when he was carried up to bed. | |
