20 July 1894 — Chenies | |
Friday. 20th July [1894]. Lady Gregory left by 10.22 train for town & leaves for Ireland by tonight’s mail train. Lady Sophia Palmer came down by a train at 12.20 & I went to the station to meet her– Little Gwyneth Ponsonby & her nurse came at the same time. Sophy remained with me all day—walked in the garden & sat in the tent & she & Gwyneth’s nurse left to return to London at 6.20. Blanche & Edward Ponsonby came back in the carriage that took Sophy & Nurse Watson took charge of Gwyneth who slept in my bed. Lovely day & warm. | |
