28 July 1894 — Chenies | |
Saturday. 28th July [1894]. Breakfast in bed– Up at 12. Sat in the morning room with Maria both of us needle working till 2 lunch. Coffee in the conservatory & then took a walk by the stream & picked flowers for Maria to take to town. Tea at 5, then drove with Maria & Nurse to Chorley Wood Station & Maria returned to London by the 6.24 train. Nurse & I went on for an hour’s drive– Had a quiet evening talking over the last sad days of Henry’s life. | |
