29 July 1894 — Chenies | |
Sunday. 29th [July 1894]. Ethel Cadogan came down from town by the train arriving 10.24 so I remained in doors with her talking till lunch at 2. Afterwards we 3 (& Nurse) walked in the garden down by the river watched the trout & picked flowers at 5 we walked towards the station & Ethel went on to catch the 5.3 train to London. Nurse & I returned to Woodside Cottage & had tea & then went to the eveng service returning to dinner– A quiet evening talking of my dear one—& then I read the Psalms & lessons to her before getting into bed– | |
