30 July 1894 — Chenies | |
Monday. 30th July [1894]. Had a last long quiet day with Nurse. After lunch we went for a walk over the river thro’ the lanes in search of wild flowers for Nurse to take to London tomorrow. We took the big dog Aleewra with us & to our dismay he suddenly left us & took to hunting—as soon as we found him again we took him home as quick as we cd & got into the garden over many stiles by 6 o’cl. Dined at 8 & bed at 10 after reading the Psalms & lesson aloud to Nurse for the last time. | |
