1 August 1894 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Wednesday. 1st August [1894]. Emilia & I breakfasted soon after 9. Wrote & talked– Maria came in abt 10.30 to see me. Louis Du Cane came for me to sign more cheques. Mr Riaño came & we 4 lunched at 1.30. Directly after lunch Connie came & she went out with me in the carriage. I went to the dentist & then to 17 Cavendish Sqr where I left Connie & took Blanche with me– We did some shopping & came home at 5.15. I parted with Blanche at her door– She left for Ireland by the night mail with her boy Vere. Connie came again for a short time abt 6 & Emilia came home having been out all the afternoon with her husband. Nela came also for a little while. E & I dined alone & retired at 10. I sat up very late arranging some of Henry’s papers & packing those I am taking with me to Weymouth on Friday– | |
