8 August 1894 — Devonshire House, Weymouth | |
Wednesday. 8th [August 1894]. Foggy morning. Wrote—read aloud to Emilia. Went out for a walk in the town before lunch. Saw the swans swimming abt in the lake near the station—a pretty sight. Lunch at 1. Wrote more letters– Went for a walk in the pier after tea & came in abt 6 as it came on to rain. Read aloud Arnold’s light of the world to Emilia. In the eveng read some more of the memoirs– | |
