23 August 1894 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset | |
Thursday. 23rd [August 1894]. Breakfasted in bed. Got up by 11. Wrote letters. Began some knitted stockings for Arthur. Read. After lunch abt 4 we went for a drive. It had rained all the morng & then seemed as tho’ it would clear. We drove to Chamberlain’s Bridge. Arthur fished—Mary stayed with him & Nelly & I took a walk. We had tea in cottage & I walked home. Drizzle & fog. Dined at 8. Besique. Bed at 11. | |
