24 August 1894 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset | |
Friday. 24th [August 1894]. I breakfasted in bed. Up by 11. Read Kingsley’s life & knitted. Played patience with Arthur. After lunch took a walk with the two girls up Woodbury Hill—a lovely view. It was close & thundery feeling & after tea we had a storm wh did not last long. Dinner at 8. Arthur & Mary played Besique. Nelly & I talked till bed time at 11. | |
