25 August 1894 — Bere Cottage, Bere Regis, Dorset
Saturday. 25th August [1894]. Arthur, Felicie & I left at ¼ to 10 & drove to Wareham. There was thunder all night & at 6 I was waked by heavy rain but it cleared before we started. We took the 10.49 train to Bournemouth & arrived at 11.22. Drove to Branksome Dene– Found Maria, our Mother & all the Du Cane girls besides Evelyn Eliot. Daisy & Nela left after lunch to pay a visit. Arthur returned home to Bere by 3 o’cl train. I stayed at Branksome Dene– Maria & I drove with Mama from 3.30 to 5. We drove to Southbourne & back. Tea at 5 & then I went to my room to be quiet & Ola came to sit with me till dinner. Played patience with Alice Murray in eveng. Richard DC. came down.
