23 September 1894 — Villa Pisani, Vescovana | |
Sunday. 23rd [September 1894]. Breakfasted at 8 in my room. Everything as we used to have it Henry & I together but his place empty. Went to church with the Css & her brother– He & I both Protestants. Took a turn in the garden before lunch at 12– Sat talking with her till 4 o’cl telling her the whole story of Henry’s illness & death. Had tea & went out for a drive with her to the farms– Dined at 7. D. Antonio came to dine. Bed at 10. | |
