30 September 1894 — Villa Pisani, Vescovana | |
Sunday. 30th September [1894]. A pouring wet day & cold. Even the Countess did not go to church. In the afternoon she made her brother read aloud to us from Dickens’ short tales to pass the time. For me the day is a sad one– Tomorrow I must return home to Venice where I shall feel my loss more than any where. | |
