3 October 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 3rd October [1894]. Up at 7. Breakfast at 9. Did house accts & changed cheque– Mrs Eden came to see me—& then Edith Bronson & sat some time—very kind both & sympathetic but very trying to me. Biraghi the wood carver came– After lunch the V. Consul Sr Zuccato called. At 3 I went out in gondola with Ola– Round by the Giudecca—the station & outside home by SS Giov. e Paolo. Ola went out in sandolo. I had tea & then Ersilia Canevaro & Maria Cozzi came & sat a long time & we talked over those last sad months & days & “so the days go on” & I am weary & sad– After dinner I & Ola looked thro’ old photos of Henry & me & chose out some of him to frame—& then to bed–
