14 October 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 14th October [1894]. Ola & I went to morning service at 10.30. Mr & Mrs Forester’s 2nd child was christened in the middle of the service & we had no sermon. Mr Forrester is Mr Eden’s Scotch gardener. When we came home Ola & I arranged fern bottles pulling clay & earth round them– Lunch at 1.30. I spent the afternoon arranging old letters. At 5 Mr Dyer came to call & had tea & then Ersilia & Maria Cozzi came. Dined at 8. I played patience & Ola read aloud– | |
