15 October 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 15th [October 1894]. A stormy showery day. I did not go out spent all the afternoon in arranging & tearing up old old letters—& found many written to me before my marriage. Letters of congratulation on it & the first letters I received after it. It carried me back to the happy days but how sad it makes me also– Clara Montalba came to tea with me & Mrs Eden came also later. Ola read aloud in the evening– | |
