24 October 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 24th October [1894]. Made carnation cuttings. Read MS. Ola kept her bed. I went out for a row in gondola after lunch. There were a few showers & heavy scirocco. Found Mme Wiel with Ola on my return. Mrs Eden & Miss Parnell came—& the latter went & sat with Ola. Ct Agostini called & told me he had lost his mother in August. He spoke with admiration & respect of Henry. I finished tidying the drawers of my letter cabinet. Dined alone. Played patience.
