9 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Friday. 9th November [1894]. There was a wet night & a heavy scirocco. Edward & I worked all the morning at arranging Henry’s papers—& got a good deal done. After lunch Blanche walked out with Ola & Olwen. Edward & I walked to the Piazza & we went to Missiaglia’s for Edward to see for a pearl necklace for Olwen. The last time I was in the shop it was to see for the pearls Henry gave me for our silver wedding. We met Blanche & brought her home in the gondola– Mr Carey & Mr Woods came to tea & to arrange about a meeting to see about the church– We settled it for Wednesday next at 3. Edward & Blanche went out to call on the Edens after tea. I copied a song for Blanche. After dinner Edward went out to the Canevaros. Blanche & Olwen sang. I played patience.
