19 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Monday. 19th [November 1894]. Our party all went off to the Greek church to see the service for the Emperor of Russia. I gardened. Wrote letters &c. Mr Eden came in the launch after lunch to fetch Edward to go to their Vigna at S. Erasmo & begged me also to go so I went. We took abt an hour to get there as we also stopped to pick up Mme Wiel. We took a walk round the Vigna & then returned to Venice. The sun was very hot but it was cold at sunset. We were dropped at Pal. Barbaro to see Css Pisani on our return & she sent us home in her gondola. She arrived in town today. | |
