26 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 26th November [1894]. Blanche, Edward & Olwen started for Paris by the 2 o’cl train & will get there at 5 P.M. tomorrow. The house seems very quiet & empty without them. The weather was cold & dull all the morning but cleared in afternoon. We lunched at 12.30 so that they might leave this house at 1.30. Ola accompanied them to the station. I went to the library to write & Mrs Eden & Edith Bronson came to see me & Mrs Eden brought me messages from Mr Eden urging me not to go to England unless absolutely necessary. As we were talking telegram arrived from Maria to say Mama was going on well so when Ola came in she took a telegram for Blanche to Cook’s office to be delivered to her when she arrived at Milan. Css Canevaro & Maria came to tea & stayed some time. Ola went to dine at Css Pisani & Iduna Belmondo came to dine with me & went home when Ola returned.
