28 November 1894 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Wednesday. 28th November [1894]. Wrote letters. Fine day. Lunch at 12.30. Countess Pisani came & we sat talking until past 3 when I went out walking with Ola to the Fondamenta Nuove. The mountains covered with snow were splendid & the air so clear we could see the chain stretching away towards Trieste. The gondola joined us & I came home. Ola walked to see the Montalbas. Iduna Belmondo came to tea with me. Ola dined with Countess Pisani. I dined with the Edens & played Besique with Mr Eden. I had a telegram today from Maria to say it is not necessary I should go home as Mama is much better.
