27 December 1894 — Cairo | |
Thursday. 27th December [1894]. We got up late being tired & did little but take a walk in the garden of the hotel– There are fields of roses—nasturtiums geraniums &c in flower. The scene from our windows is very Oriental flat roof palm trees & the queer masts of the boats– The sun is very bright but the wind seems to us cold. Hy G. went off to see the town & his friends at Shepherds Hotel. | |
