30 January 1895 — Luxor | |
Wednesday. 30th January [1895]. Got up early & went to see abt our rooms before breakfast. Elaine was not feeling well & was anxious to get settled. At last abt 11 we got the rooms. The Lambton party came to bid us good bye & the Rameses left at 12. Elaine lunched in her room & remained on the sofa but was better & able to dine down. She found friends Miss & Mr Benson (the author of Dodo) here. I found Mme Schlumberger whom I had known at Consple. We sat in the hall I talking to Mme S. & Elaine playing word games with the Bensons. | |
