27 February 1895 — Cairo | |
Wednesday. 27th February [1895]. Ash Wednesday. I breakfasted at 8.30 & we all went to morning service. I slipped out before the Commination Service. The Khamseen Wind blew nearly all day & there was no going out. Elaine & Aline played croquet with Messrs de Barito & Mossop. I wrote some letters & read. Elaine had a talk with Mr Mossop abt his flirtation with Aline Lambton & he disclaimed all idea of it. | |
