24 March 1895 — Cairo | |
Sunday. 24th [March 1895]. Cold still bad got up late & drove with Elaine & Aline Lambton to Princess Nazli’s & there lunched. Met Mr Donald Cameron. The dust & wind was so disagreeable that we came straight back to the hotel. Lady Hope & Mr Denny came to call on Elaine & had tea with us. After dinner I met Mrs Lascelles (late Hardwick) & had a chat with her. An American lady Mrs Bishop who has been a long time here with us in the hotel spoke to us & was very pleasant. | |
