25 March 1895 — Cairo | |
Monday. 25th March [1895]. Sat with Elaine & Aline while they sewed in their room. I read some Heroditus aloud to them. Col. & Lady V. Lambton arrived here from Mena House to stay & took over the charge of their daughter. We all lunched together including Lord Egerton of Tatton. The girls drove out together. I remained in garden & sketched a little. I was just coming in when I met Mr & Miss Cartwright in the garden. They had come to see me. So I walked them round the garden & made a plan for going tomorrow morning to see the Arabian Museum with Mr Cartwright. | |
