9 April 1895 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Tuesday. 9th [April 1895]. Signor Brugnoli came at 10 to give Elaine a lesson in water colour painting & stayed till 12. I remained with them & profitted. Mrs Eden came to see us directly after lunch & Elaine & I went with her in our gondola to her garden which is gay with spring flowers altho the spring is very backward this year. Elaine went back to Mrs Edens house to tea with her & I came home. Countess Canevaro & her sister came to see me. Ersilia was huffed at my not writing to say I was home & had not come before. | |
