31 May 1895 — En route to Bessborough
Friday. 31st May [1895]. We got at 2 A.M. to Holyhead & at 6 A.M. to Kingstown after a perfectly smooth passage. At Dublin we had some breakfast & went on by train to Fiddown having changed trains at               . Fiddown is a mile from the house & we got to Bessborough in a shower of pelting rain abt 12.30. Bessborough is a good sized house built of black marble. Fine trees & a large park surrounds it. We had lunch & then rested. I had such a bad headache I had to go to bed & remain there the rest of the day.
