2 June 1895 — Bessborough, Fiddown, County Kilkenny
Sunday. 2nd June [1895]. Whitsunday. We walked to church through the grounds in the morning. After lunch Edward drove us in the waggonette to see Lord & Lady Waterford at Curraghmore. It took us just an hour to get there. Lady W. had been very ill & was downstairs for the first time. She is a great invalid & was given up by the Drs a year ago so it is a marvel she is still alive. Her 2 daughters entertained us. Lord W. took us in his phaeton a drive in the woods to see an avenue of rhododendrons he has planted & then brought us back to the house to tea. We left there abt 7 & returned to Bessborough for dinner.
