18 June 1895 — 1 Queen Anne Street
Tuesday. 18th [June 1895]. This day last year was the day Henry drove out the last time after which drive he was taken so very ill & took to his bed– Eda Alderson had come up to stay with us the day before & here she is again & all so altered. I am living the time over again & it all comes back so vividly. Mr Haley the house decorator whom we had employed in his house & who came up from Bradford to see me came this morning & I sent him to 3 Savile Row to make the estimate for doing up the house. Louis Du Cane came to see me & he & I went to meet him there & go over the house with him. Louis thinks Monty & I ought to find a better house & we went together to see one in Grafton St but did not like it. Drove out after lunch with Eda & took her to see her friends. Dined at home she & I.
