12 August 1895 — Canford Manor, nr. Wimborne, Dorset | |
Monday. 12th August [1895]. Packed– Maria read journal to me. Miss Green left Branksome Dene directly after lunch & I went off to Bere to stay with Arthur. Maria drove with me to Branksome station. Nela followed on a bycicle & the other girls walked. I had to change trains at Poole. At Wareham to took a fly & drove to Bere by tea time. Lionel Guest was to have joined me on the train but he did not turn up, but arrived while we were at dinner– There was no one else there but Arthur & Nelly Alderson. | |
