15 August 1895 — 1 Queen Anne Street | |
Thursday. 15th August [1895]. Breakfasted in bed at 8 & then got up & arranged papers &c & walked to 3 Savile Row by 10.30. Found Monty at home & the contractor & we settled decorations colours &c with him till 1 o’cl when I hastened back to No 1 to lunch. Louis Du Cane came to lunch & then Mr Boyton the house agent came & I went over the house with him pointing out what furniture I would sell to their client. When this was done I walked out to a shop & returned & had tea at 4 & then drove off to Waterloo Station took the 4.55 train back to Wareham & got to Bere abt 9 & found them at dinner & Lady Cecil Montagu staying there. Went to bed early very tired. | |
