7 January 1896 — 3 Savile Row
Tuesday. 7th [January 1896]. A brighter day. Wrote & worked beginning various pieces of needlework for Blanche’s Irish Industry. Bertha & Roberts went off early this morning to Spring Farm to arrange the furniture there. After lunch I took a cab & went off to Claverton St to see old Genl Sir Collingwood Dickson who is kept in doors by bronchitis & thence came straight home. Mr Arthur Layard & Ida, his sister, Henry’s nephew & niece came to tea. Later Louis DC. called– I type wrote before & after dinner.
