Thursday. 16th [January 1896]. I type wrote in morning. Mrs W. Hanson & her boy Bertram & Francie Thesiger came to lunch. When they left I went for a walk. Connie Eliot came to tea & Nela & Ruth Du Cane. Had a long talk with Connie abt her troubles with her son Ernie who has got into trouble & gives her much sorrow.
