21 January 1896 — Springfield Lodge, nr. Dorking, Surrey | |
Tuesday. 21st January [1896]. I painted my fan & Maria read aloud all the morning till 12 when I walked to Milton to see Mrs Rate who was better. I went home to lunch. After lunch Maria & I walked to Westcott & returned home to tea. Then Issie & I took our lantern & walked to Milton to see Mrs Rate who was quite alone her husband & daughter having gone to town. We walked home safely at 7. Played backgammon in evening. | |
