19 April 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 19th April [1896]. I went to church in gondola with the Rate party. Left them at the Picture gallery afterwards & walked home– A thunderstorm in afternoon & no more going out. Mr & Lady Harriet Cavendish came to see Aline & talked with me of her plans. Css Canevaro came to tea & sang to the Rates. Mme Brazza called & later Mr Montalba. Mrs Brown called just after lunch– It was a wet evening. Aline was up but suffering with a very bad headache. | |
