26 April 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Sunday. 26th April [1896]. Took the Rate party to church at 10.30 & Mr Reeve joined us there. After service we went to the Accademia for a short time to see the pictures. I had not been there since the pictures had been rearranged & the Presentation of the Virgin by Titian has been put back into the small room for which it was originally painted. After lunch we all except Aline went to the Eden’s garden. There were a good many people there. Came home to tea– Mr Reeve came to dinner & we all went out for a row (excepting Aline). It was a splendid moonlit night. We left Mr Reeve at the Rialto to walk to his hotel. He took leave of me & leaves Venice tomorrow.
