Sunday. 3rd May [1896]. In this morning paper there is news of the assassination of the Shah of Persia– This will probably raise a fresh Russo Turkish complication. Truly the world is in a queer state. We all 3 went out in the afternoon in gondola as far as the public gardens. Aline went home direct. Augusta & I went back home on foot. In the evening Aline was very unwell & had to go to bed abt 7 & have Dr Cini called. | |
