4 May 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 4th [May 1896]. Aline was better this morning. I began to copy the picture by Cinia—a beginning of an illustrated Catalogue of our pictures. Went out in gondola with Augusta. Called on Clara Montalba & she showed us her sketches. Left Augusta at the Piazza. She walked home. I called on Ersilia Canevaro the 3rd visit I have yet made here but she was not at home. Came home to tea– A thunderstorm in the evening & heavy rain.
