14 May 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Thursday. 14th [May 1896]. Augusta went with me to the studio where I sat for my portrait this morning. Returned at 1 & I began to copy the Moretto portrait in the music room– After lunch I went again to Passini’s till tea– Aug. accompanied me to the door & then went on to call on the Curtis. After tea we went to the Eden’s garden—& found Mrs E. alone with her cousin Miss Weguelin– We brought home some lovely roses. Called on the Dss of Noci & Css Wallis & found them at home. Iduna Bel was there. Home to dinner. Read aloud to Aug. in the evening. Early to bed–
