1 June 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Monday. 1st June [1896]. I returned to my picture copying & worked at the Cinia all the morning & part of the afternoon when I had a visit from Count Seckendorff who has been at Venice for the last 10 days with friends at the Hotel d’Europe. I invited him to come & stay here. Had committee meeting of Sailors Institute—came to no conclusion & arranged for one for tomorrow. Visit from Passini who wants me to sit to him for my portrait again tomorrow. Went for a row before dinner. Went later with Iduna out in her gondola & she got into ours & we went for a row together.
