12 June 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Friday. 12th [June 1896]. I worked at my Montagna copy in the morning. Abt 3 Iduna Bel came & soon after 4 she went out with us to the Curtis’ to tea—to meet the Evan Smiths, Css Pisani & Passini. At 6 Augusta & I went to Barozzi’s the antiquity shop & then took a row. Augusta walked home & I went in & had a chat with Css Pisani & only got home for dinner. Roberts (butler) has made a splendid large cage for the 2 parrots into which I put them this evening, cage with their nest & all– The large cage is put in the dressing room that I may superintend the marriage & we hope they will breed & have a family. | |
