14 June 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice | |
Sunday. 14th [June 1896]. Augusta & I went to morning service. It was a very hot day. After church she went to the Picture Gallery. I went to see Css Pisani & found she was just starting for her church. Came home & busied myself sticking newspaper cuttings into the book till lunch– After lunch we read aloud to each other & to visit Css Pisani & we had tea with her. After tea we accompanied her to the Sailor’s Institute & showed it to her & then she went home & we took a little row & home to dinner. | |
