27 June 1896 — Ca’ Capello, Venice
Saturday. 27th [June 1896]. After the heavy rain today it is overcast & much cooler. I saw Lady Gregory off by the 2.5 train & returned home till 4 when I left by 4.35 train for Stanghella to spend a night at Vescovana. The journey was cool & dustless & it will be pleasant for Augusta’s long journey as she goes straight thro’ to London & reaches on Monday at 5.40. I found Css Pisani at dinner with D. Antonio. We had some talk & to bed at 10.30.
