5 July 1896 — Villa Mier, Belluno | |
Sunday. 5th [July 1896]. Fine day but scirocco. Had breakfast in my room at 8. Read Dante. Wrote Cortelazzo’s Memoirs all day (two years today—how long the time seems since he went!) & then abt 6 strolled out into the fields– On my return found Cav. Engl Giacomini had come up & had a little talk with him & he sent me a basket of cherries as a present. Dined at 8. Read & played patience. | |
