7 August 1896 — Villa Pisani, Vescovana | |
Friday. 7th August [1896]. Sophy had early tea with me in my room & she read Gibbon to me till abt 10 the Css came to us & I went out with her on her round of the farms. There was a tremendous thunderstorm & much rain last night & she had to stop all the threshing operations. Home to lunch. Wrote letters. After tea we all 3 walked in garden & it rained again in eveng. | |
